# Функцiї iнфiнiтива в реченнi

Як ми вже зазначали, інфінітив не може бути присудком у реченні (максимум частиною складного присудка), що є звичайною функцією дієслова. Інфінітив, як і інші безособові форми дієслова, виконує досить не звичні для дієслів функції в реченні. А саме інфінітив може бути:

* Підметом (Subject)

  To earn much is my dream. (To earn – підмет, is - присудок)
* Предикативом (Predicative)

  Тобто іменною частиною складеного присудка, тобто ми бачимо, що інфінітив може бути лише частиною присудка, а не самим присудком.

  My wish is to study at university. (Wish – підмет, is to study – складений іменний присудок)
* Частиною складеного дієслівного присудка (Part of the compound verbal predicate)

  Знову бачимо, що інфінітив може бути лише частиною присудка, а не самим присудком.

  1. Після слів begin, start, continue:

     I began to study at school in 2001. (I – підмет, began to study – складений дієслівний присудок)
  2. Після модальних дієслів:

     You should study better.(should – модальне дієслово; You – підмет, shoul study - присудок)
* Додатком (Object)

  He promised to buy me a car.(He – підмет, promised – приcудок, he promised - what? – to buy a car, to buy me a car - додаток)
* Обставиною мети або наслідку (Adverbial modifier)

  He came to the capital to study at university. (He – підмет, came – присудок, he came – why? –to study – обставина мети. )
