# Порiвняння прикметникiв

А тепер розглянемо більш детально, коли саме ми вживаємо вищий, а коли найвищий ступені порівняння прикметників в англійській мові.

1. Ми вживаємо **вищий ступінь порівняння**, коли порівнюємо якусь персону, річ, дію, групу з іншою. Зачасту в такому порівнянні використовується сполучник «than».

   Tom is taller than his three brothers. -Порівнюємо Тома з його трьома братами.

   Your haircut is worse than hers. -Порівнюємо одну зачіску з іншою.
2. Ми вживаємо **найвищий ступінь порівняння**, коли порівнюємо якусь одну персону, річ, дію з групою персон, речей, дій, до яких вони мають відношення. Тобто беремо щось одне з поміж групи, виділяємо його особливі якості та порівнюємо з рештою групи.

   Peter is the tallest in his class. -Порівнюємо одного Пітера з рештою дітей у класі.

   This day is the worst day in my life. -Порівнюємо один день з рештою днів.

Comparative degree (>): better, more interesting

**Вищий ступінь порівняння**

Superlative degree (+): the best, the most interesting

**Найвищий ступінь порівняння у кращий бік**

Equal comparative (=): as good as, as interesting as

**Рівність**

Inferior comparative (<): less good, less interesting

**Порівняння в гірший бік**

Inferior superlative (-): the least good, the least interesting
